Description: Seeking a Psychiatrist
The hospital provides direct clinical care and assessment services for adults and adolescents with mental illness and addiction
These services include individual and group treatment, clinical supervision, case consultation, and psychological assessment
This position will interface with an inter-disciplinary team to ensure patient-centered, evidence-based, high-quality behavioral health services
Provide intensive, individual psychotherapy for adults and/or adolescents.
Facilitate group psychoeducation and group therapies, with consideration of the role of dyadic and group work in the context of a house-based treatment milieu and overarching therapeutic community context.
Participate in inter-disciplinary treatment team meetings to review clinical progress, testing results, determine further needs for assessment and specialized interventions (e.g., OCD treatment), and assist team in developing case formulations.
Attend administrative meetings and team huddles to ensure assessments of patients includes appropriate safety monitoring and follow-up of intervention questions, as well as appropriate care.
Assist the team in identifying transference/countertransference dynamics and uses this understanding as an opportunity to support reflective functioning that furthers the patient’s treatment (i.e., support responsiveness based on deliberation rather than reactivity).
Monitor needs for clinical services and identify opportunities for new services, including strengthening relationships with external referrers and coordinating care around referred patients.
Work collaboratively with other departments, to develop strategies and processes that result in high-quality, well documented services.
Collaborate with Patient Experience Department on clinical initiatives identified through patient and family feedback.
Required: BC/BE, at least five to seven years’ experience of providing high quality psychological interventions with complex and difficult to treat patients and postdoctoral supervision experience and/or postdoctoral training in psychological treatment and assessment.
