Description: Seeking a full-time Pediatric Hospitalist --The provider will manage a range of inpatient responsibilities, primarily related to newborn care with some pediatric admissions --8 hours in-house per day (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM) --24/7 coverage with 16 hours of on-call responsibilities --Typical census: 8-15 newborns per day and 0-2 pediatric patients per day --Call responsibilities include: Nurse phone consultations, potential admissions from the ED, and attending high-risk deliveries or stabilizing sick newborns (calls come from nurses and/or ER doctors – NOT from parents) --APRN support is provided Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings, especially when census is highest. --CRNA is available 24/7 for epidurals and urgent/emergent C-sections. --The nursery, labor & delivery, postpartum unit, and pediatrics are located conveniently on the same floor. --Typical Census: 8-15 newborns per day / 0-2 pediatric patients per day. --90% of inpatient duties involve managing newborns, including nursery coverage. --10% of duties involve managing straightforward pediatric admissions such as basic ENT cases. --No complex subspecialty care or PICU-level cases. --Procedures Include: Circumcisions, emergency CPAP management, frenotomies, and excision of simple polydactyly. Rare emergency procedures such as intubation, needle decompression of pneumothorax, and UVC placement. --Providers will work in a Level 2 nursery and must attend deliveries as early as 32 weeks gestation. --1 full time hospitalist. --1 part time hospitalist that helps cover weekends, holidays, and PTO.
