Description: Northern New York State Hospital is seeking Locum BC/BE Radiation Oncologist to provide coverage starting May 18th 2026 - 3 day - coverage for the week of May 18. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday is preferred but will entertain other options. - Days: 8a-4p, 9a-5:30p - Call not required - Diagnosing cancer: Evaluating patients' medical history and conducting diagnostic tests to identify the best treatment strategy. - Developing treatment plans: Creating personalized radiation therapy plans based on the type, stage, and location of cancer. - Administering radiation therapy: Executing treatments such as stereotactic radiosurgery and other advanced methods. - Monitoring patient progress: Tracking the effectiveness of the treatment and making necessary adjustments. - Managing side effects: Providing care and managing potential side effects of radiation therapy. - Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team: Working with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive cancer care. - Conducting research: Engaging in research related to radiation oncology to improve patient outcomes. - Staff on unit: Provider: 1, NP: 1, LPN: 1 - Acuity level of patients: Adults acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems. - Number of beds: clinic setting - Patient Ratios: 1:10-15 - Automated Medication dispensing system: Pixys - Charting: EPIC - Level 1 Perinatal Center - SAFE Designated Center - Primary Stroke Center - DNV Accredited Facility - Required: NY license, AHA BLS, ACLS, EPIC experience, Min of 2 years’ recent experience
