Community/Facility info: Healthcare system is made up of three unique hospitals serving the mountain region of northwest North Carolina and northeast Tennessee. Located in the northwest corner of North Carolina, in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains at 3,333 feet above sea level. While the climate is relatively temperate, the southernmost ski slopes in the eastern US, Appalachian Ski Mountain, Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain are all within driving distance.
