 Community/Facility info: Serving as the cultural and commercial center of southern Oklahoma in the heart of the Great Plains Country, an area of plain and prairies, mountain peaks and scenic parks.  Medical Center is a Joint Commission-accredited full-service hospital with 199 beds. The physician staff of 150 provides care in 31 medical specialties. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services and round-the-clock X-ray and laboratory services as well as comprehensive surgical services and diagnostic imaging. Medical Center also has a 50-bed Med/Surg Unit, an 8-bed ICU and comprehensive Cardiopulmonary, Rehabilitative and Women's Health programs.
Providing state-of-the-art medical care has been a long tradition. For example, the hospital's cancer center was not only the first cancer program in southern Oklahoma, but also the first to be accredited by the Commission on Cancer and the first in southwest Oklahoma to offer Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). The neurosciences unit offers advanced treatment for a variety of neurological diseases and conditions, including brain tumors, aneurysms, stroke, disease of the spine, Alzheimer's, seizures, Parkinson's disease and many more. Other advanced medical technologies include a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Studies, Radiation Oncology, Geriatric, Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Services, Sleep Diagnostic Systems and Wound Care Services.
