Community/Facility info: Places Rated Almanac ranked Knoxville the #1 best city of under a million. Sperling's Best Places for Affordable Living has Knoxville at #8. Money rates it #10 on their "Best Places to Retire" list. And Forbes places it #4 on its list of the country's best places for business and careers. Naturally that quality of living comes from the four-season climate, the beauty of the mountains and lakes and comfortable, friendly communities. Whether you're single, part of a family, or an empty-nester couple - you'll be welcome here. And no matter if you choose urban excitement, well-tended suburbs, a farm, or the solitude of a mountain retreat, you'll find this area a wonderful place to live. Although the quality of life here is excellent, the cost of living is surprisingly low. It's 12% below the national average.
