Description: Southern Texas Hospital is seeking Locum Emergency Medicine physician to provide coverage starting 9/14/2026 - Contract length: 3 months to 1 year - Shift Details: MD Hours: 7am-7pm; 7pm-7am - Total Number of ED Beds: 22 - Trauma Level Designation: Level III - Open to Locum-to-Perm or Perm - Annual ED Volume: 28,000 (77 visits/day) - Admission Percentage 25% - Average Patients per Hour: 1.8 - Transfer Rate: 3% - Specialty Back-Up: General/Trauma Surgery, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Obstetrics, Oncology, Pediatrics, Pulmonology, Plastics, Neonatology, and Urology - Pediatric Visits: 15% - Teleneurology used in ED for emergent neurological consults - EMR: MedHost - BC/EM preferred - Certifications Needed: ACLS, ATLS (BC/EM not required), PALS - TX license or IMLC required
