Community/Facility info: Hospital, a 295-bed acute-care facility, provides medical services to a 10-county service area in south central Kentucky. Since opening with 175 beds in 1976, the hospital has grown steadily to meet the needs of the community by completing ten major expansion projects – the latest being a five-story116,000 square-foot, medical tower with a three-story parking garage. Hospital offers complete cardiac care – including open-heart surgery – and a neurosurgery program that is rated among the best in the nation. It has three cath labs, comprehensive clinical pathology and laboratory, cardiopulmonary services, surgical services (including orthopedic, bariatric and urological) and a radiology department with nuclear medicine, ultrasound, 16- and 64-slice CT, X-ray with fluoroscopy, MRI and Open MRI. The hospital also has women’s and children’s services, a level II neonatal nursery, med/surg and intensive care units, inpatient rehabilitation unit, skilled care unit and a behavioral health unit to provide care for both adult and geriatric patients. In order to better serve our patients, the hospital also has eight convenient off-site centers that provide outpatient services including: bariatric, cancer treatment, imaging, surgery, wound care and hyperbaric medicine, therapy, open MRI, and sleep disorders.
