Description: Behaviorial Health organization is seeking Psychiatrist to join our team as an ACT Psychiatrist - Flexible schedule (25 hours/week) - $130/hr - The ACT Psychiatrist provides clinical services, including diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues to adults. - The Assertive Community Treatment program, a self-contained clinical team which assumes responsibility for directly providing needed treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to identified clients with severe and persistent mental illness - Work with the Program Director to monitor the clinical status and treatment response of each served individual. - Conduct assessments which include psychiatric history, illness course, treatment response, MSE, and arrive at diagnoses and share results with team. - Direct psychopharmacologic and medical treatment and collaborates with the team nurse(s) in assessing client physical health. - Assist in providing education to clients regarding their illness, response to treatment, and possible side effects of medications. - Oversees and signs treatment plans and participates in treatment planning process. - Ensures appropriate coordination of care with client PMD's. - Functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team, and participates in daily team meetings. - Shares, with the Program Director, the delivery of clinical services. - Provides case consultation, education, and staff training. - With other team members, provides support, education, and counseling to family members to help in the understanding of mental illness. - Provides management and/or consultation in crisis situations. - Provides on-call responsibility and availability when needed by a team member on a around-the-clock basis. - May be required to submit written reports, develop treatment plan and/or verbal testimony and presentation of opinion in legal proceedings (For example Assisted Outpatient Treatment court) - Provide collaboration for Nurse Practitioners within the team and agency - This position is responsible for collaborative relationships of Nurse Practitioners within the agency.
