Description: Seeking a Trauma Medical Director to lead a dynamic trauma and acute care surgery team --Florida State verified level II Trauma Center --Lead the trauma program and acute care surgery service. --Duties are organized around 12-hour primary in-house coverage, plus 12-hour back-up. --The acute care surgery team has seven fulltime advanced practice professionals and six fulltime trauma surgeons. --The program participates in TQIP and TQIP collaboratives. --Supported by a multispecialty team of Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Orthopedic, Neurosurgery and Interventional Radiology --26 ORs and 36 ICU beds combined TICU/MICU --56-bed emergency department with 2 dedicated trauma bays and 4 additional critical care bays --1840 annual trauma patients entered in the registry --High volume of blunt / penetrating trauma (87% / 13%) --Pediatric trauma (under 16 years old) and all burn cases stabilized and transferred to pediatric center --Employment and academic appointment --Required: - Must be board certified in General Surgery with Added Qualifications in Surgical Critical Care. - Be a current ATLS instructor - Have previous Trauma Medical Director (Associate or Full) experience with state and regional exposure
