Community/Facility info: 181-bed acute care facility located on the Colorado River on the northwestern border of Arizona and California, midway between Phoenix, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada. The hospital is certified for Medicare and JCAHO accredited. A 20-bed Transitional Care, Skilled Nursing Unit (SNF) is an active medical service component of the facility. The Medical Center provides 24-hour emergency service with full-time emergency physicians on duty. It is a state certified ALS Base Hospital authorizing medical direction and support or pre-hospital care providers, the fire department paramedics, and ambulance personnel. The facilely offers a full complement of patient-centered, community hospital and regional referral services in all or the major medical disciplines. More than 90 affiliated physicians comprise the medical staff and represent a broad cross-section of specialty areas. "America's Home of London Bridge," is a growing community of some 45,000 full-time residents. Winter visitors add another 15-20,000 seasonal residents. between October and April. Located on the Colorado River, the city offers charm and quality of life of a small community, with easy access to the amenities offered by the metropolitan areas of Phoenix (200 miles), Las Vegas (105 miles), and Los Angeles (300 miles).
