Description: 1 hour from Cleveland, OH Hospital is seeking Locum BC/BE OB Hospitalist to provide coverage - Ongoing need - 12 or 24-hour in-house shifts - Inpatient only; no clinic; 24/7 in-house OBED coverage - Average 1–3 deliveries per shift; 6–8 patients in the OBED - Approximately 600 deliveries per year - The OBED hospitalists see main ED and floor consults and determine if the community on call physician needs to come in to assist with surgical management of GYN cases such as torsion, ectopic pregnancy or other gynecologic concerns. - Miscarriage management occurs on L+D and is done by the responsible OBGYN as delineated above. - 85% obstetrics - Level II NICU - High-risk patients under 32 weeks transferred to an in-system hospital - MFM and GYN/ONC available by telephone consultation - Responsibilities include rounding on postpartum, antepartum, GYN, and consult patients, deliveries, scheduled C-sections, suction D&C, and management of all OBED patients - Required procedures: vaginal delivery, C-section, VAVD, 3rd and 4th degree laceration repair, labor induction, TOLAC, suction D&C, first assist GYN procedures, circumcision, and management of medical conditions and complications of pregnancy at all gestational ages - In-house anesthesia available - NP/PA for first assist - Community OB/GYN covers unassigned GYN cases after initial OBED consult - No midwives on staff - EMR: Epic - Required: OH license or IMLC
