Description: Northern New York State Facility is seeking a full-time locum Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant starting 11/23/2026 - Monday–Friday 8am–4pm - Evaluate and manage GI and internal medicine patients; patient-to-provider ratio 1:14–18 - Referral of complex and high-priority cases to collaborating physicians - Provide patient and family education on preventive care, medical issues, and prescribed treatments - Prescribe and monitor medications; order and monitor emergency interventions as appropriate - Maintain documentation compliance for coding and billing; document evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and referrals per NCQA, Joint Commission, and state regulatory standards - Team includes 1 provider and 1 Nurse Practitioner; anesthesia available for each procedure; 1 LPN on unit - Adult patients with a wide variety of acute medical problems - Medication dispensing: Pyxis - EMR: Epic - Minimum 3 years of recent experience required - Active New York medical license required - AHA BLS required
